What is Computer Science?

Computer science studies how we analyze information, solve problems, and engineer solutions. Because of its flexibility, computer science is used in an extremely broad range of fields, from organizing politics and law to cryptography and medical devices.

Who uses computer science?

Entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Bill Gates (Microsoft), Larry Page, and Sergey Brin (Google). AI developers like David Ferrucci (IBM Watson), Feng-hsiung Hsu (IBM Deep Blue), Ryszard S. Michalski (Machine learning). Scientists like Stephen Altschul (BLAST), Masaru Tomita (E-Cell), and Richard Feynman (Quantum Computing). Financiers like David E Shaw, Robert C. Merton, and Michael Goodkin. Social Scientists like Mark Granovetter, Ronald Burt, and Robert Axelrod. The algorithmic pioneers, such as Ada Lovelace, Alan Turing, and Edsger Dijkstra. The list grows as computer science expands further in every known field of study and production.

Ben has demonstrated to me that he has hard core knowledge of computer science with ways to make the programming experience fun for my daughter. He tailored his material to suit her needs and constantly making improvement of the lessons. My daughter also likes the skype share format, which is convenient for her to learn remotely one on one or in a small group of two.

Most of all, Ben enjoys teaching. I have seen him completely immersed my daughter in the magic world of programming during the lessons. He is an articulate speaker. We all enjoyed listen in to his lectures.
